Got A Question ?
California notary fees are $15 per notarized signature. Mobile appointments also include a travel/convenience fee, generally starting at $25–$35 depending on location, time, and the services needed. An initial quote can be provided before your appointment. If the number of notarizations, travel, waiting time, or services required changes, the final fee may also change.
Please bring a valid, acceptable form of identification, such as a driver’s license or passport, along with the complete document that needs to be notarized. Documents should generally be complete and free of blank spaces.
An acknowledgment confirms that you are the person who signed the document and that you signed it willingly. A jurat requires you to sign in the notary’s presence and take an oath or affirmation that the statements in the document are true.
No. A California Notary Public who is not an attorney cannot provide legal advice, interpret documents, choose the type of notarization you need, or advise you how to complete legal forms. If you are unsure, you should contact the document’s issuing or receiving agency or a qualified attorney.
Some documents require witnesses in addition to notarization. Please confirm whether your document requires witnesses before your appointment. Unless arranged in advance, you should plan to provide any required witnesses.
A notarization is an official act performed by a commissioned Notary Public. Depending on the notarial act requested, the notary verifies the signer’s identity, completes the required notarial certificate, and helps deter fraud. Notarization does not verify that the contents of a document are accurate or legally valid.

It depends on the type of notarization required. Some notarial acts require the document to be signed in the notary’s presence. If you are unsure, it is best to wait until your appointment before signing.
A simple notarization may take only a few minutes once identification has been verified and the document is ready. Appointments involving multiple documents, signers, witnesses, or loan packages may take longer.

An Apostille is a certificate used to authenticate certain public documents for use in another country that participates in the Hague Apostille Convention. An Apostille authenticates the appropriate public official’s signature and capacity; it does not validate the contents of the underlying document.
Apostille assistance is available for documents that need to be authenticated for use outside the United States. Contact me with the type of document and destination country so I can help determine the appropriate next steps.
